An SBC Voices NCAA Tourney Bracket Challenge

by Dave Miller on March 18, 2013 · 30 comments

Just for fun, I started an ESPN “SBC Voices” group. If you want to play, follow the links below and demonstrate your supreme and superior knowledge on these things. I never do that well on such things. I choose with my heart, not my head. I don’t pick UNC, Duke or SEC teams even when I should. It’s a matter of conscience. I pick Big 10 teams as often as possible!

So, if you want to get in the action, follow the links below.

On your computer,  Here is the link to the group

If you are on a mobile device, Go here

The group name is: SBCVoicesBB. I chose a unique and secure password: sbcvoices

Sign up and enjoy.

You do know that you can’t pick the Yankees for this, right?

2 Jeremy Parks March 19, 2013 at 1:15 am

He picked Jeter.

3 Dave Miller March 18, 2013 at 7:41 pm

I will find a way, Doug.

4 Doug Hibbard March 18, 2013 at 10:15 pm

They’re a 16-seed.

No, wait, that’s what they really are this season.

5 William Thornton March 19, 2013 at 8:00 am

My main concern is that the Yankees not win.

My secondary concerns that Notre Dame loses, with apologies to the new Pope.

I would like to see Ole Miss win a game.

Aside fro those, if every game came down to the last shot that would be interesting.

I think we can be sure of the first, hopeful for the second, and pleasantly surprised by the third. And certainly, all decent people agree with each of them! :)

I have to go with Louisville all the way, since Iowa is thinking about doing away with their basketball program and replacing it with shuffle board.

Yes, Louisville will be the next NCAA basketball champs.

You guys can mark this one down.

8 Jess Alford March 19, 2013 at 11:10 am

cb scott, put that in your pipe and smoke it.

9 Jeff Meyer March 19, 2013 at 12:49 pm

I really want to go with my heart and pick Iowa State to go a long way, but my head tells me differently. Darn you cognitive dissonance!

10 Jess Alford March 19, 2013 at 12:59 pm

Jeff,

Listen to your head. LOL

11 Adam G. in NC March 19, 2013 at 1:37 pm

My hopes are for Tobacco Road hanging a coupla more banner’s this year!

12 Dave Miller March 19, 2013 at 10:19 pm

Stop talking about it, deadbeats, and go over and fill out a bracket.

13 Adam G. in NC March 20, 2013 at 12:24 am

Done…like 12 hours ago.

14 Jess Alford March 19, 2013 at 7:31 pm

Adam G in NC,

NC is in the NIT this year aren’t they?

15 Dave Miller March 19, 2013 at 10:18 pm

They should be.

16 Adam G. in NC March 20, 2013 at 12:24 am

Dave, how many local (within a 30 minute drive) teams do you have in the Big Dance? More than 3?

17 Adam G. in NC March 20, 2013 at 12:22 am

Jess, you aint talkin to no Tarheel fan. However, they did start out pretty week, they have definitely picked it up in the past few weeks.

Hey, didnt Louisville already lose to Duke one time this year?

18 Jess Alford March 20, 2013 at 4:42 pm

Adam G.

I don’t recall, all I know is that they will win the big dance.

19 Doug Hibbard March 19, 2013 at 9:08 pm

Well, with Liberty down, my bracket is toast.

So much for picking based on schools Ed Stetzer has preached at.

20 Ed Stetzer March 22, 2013 at 3:20 pm

Doug,

;-)

21 Zack Stepp March 20, 2013 at 6:27 am

I’m sorry; I went to UGA. I’m not familiar with this “basketball” of which you all speak.

22 William Thornton March 20, 2013 at 8:09 am

..but the dawgs did beat Kentucky this year. They will have a first round NBA pick.

23 Dave Miller March 20, 2013 at 10:01 am

It’s pretty clear the SEC spends all of its money buying football players and has little left for basketball!

24 Greg Harvey March 20, 2013 at 1:24 pm

SEC basketball is appallingly mediocre. And I can’t imagine that getting fixed any time soon. The occasional one-and-done sprint to the finish line for UK notwithstanding.

25 Jess Alford March 20, 2013 at 4:39 pm

Dave, Greg,

What ever you guys are smoking, send me some. I think you all are stoned out of your minds.

26 Jess Alford March 20, 2013 at 4:52 pm

I walked into church the other night wearing my bright red Louisville Cardinal jacket, and my Louisville Cardinal tie. Gosh, I looked good.

When I got home I drank coffee out of my Louisville Cardinal mug.

Cardinals have been trending lately… here and in ROme.

29 svmuschany March 22, 2013 at 7:28 pm

Wow New Mexico loosing really trashed my entire bracket, drat.

30 Jeff Meyer March 23, 2013 at 12:25 pm

No kidding – I had them in the Sweet 16.

I had K State in the Elite 8…ouch – that’s gonna hurt.

But I did pick the Clones to beat Notre Dame! I wouldn’t even mind if they wrecked the West for me. :)
