I think you can find those next to Tim LaHaye’s “Left Behind” series, “End Times By The Fonz: Happier Days Are Coming.”
But Jared probably wants to keep them also for his summer sermon series on eschatology.
Jared, I am not in the market to buy books anymore (basement is full since I no longer have a church office) but I am sorry to see that you are in a condition where you have to sell your library but I am close to the real estate market (wife is an agent who does a lot of REO and short sale work) and understand the reality on the ground.
I was ready to take your Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen books off your hands, but I guess you’re keeping those?

When I saw this post early this morning, I was excited about the prospects of buying all of his Gary Smalley books, but I guess he is keeping all of those also.
I was looking to make an offer on his leather bound collector’s edition of the Harry Potter series…
Jared, the shared lesson of your life and mine appears to be: never buy a house in Tennessee. I got hung with one in Memphis, short-saled it 2 years back after several years of debacle with renters, and I’m still wrestling with the tax implications. Including a notice from the IRS, today, that they think I owe them a few thousand more.
Not pretty.
And I’ll take a look…who knows, maybe I need one or two of those.
Doug, I hate that you had to do a short sale with your home. I’ll pray the stuff with the IRS works out.
I think the main lesson I’ve learned is not to move to another church in another state before selling your previous home. I know pastors do this type of thing quite a bit, but I wouldn’t recommend it. God has been gracious though.
It’s a long story—the Lord is good, though, and I trust that if anyone can handle the IRS when they make an error, it’s God. In fact, He may be the only one who can handle it.
I’m very delighted to live in a parsonage right now. That makes me happy, even if it’s not a long-term investment.

I recently moved a friend who had just finished a Masters. I think the books took up as much space in the moving truck as the furniture did! I told her if she sold off her library she could live free in her new place for a couple months easy. Hoping to avoid the same with more judicious e-book purchasing (of course, those cannot be resold as easily!).
We don’t realize how consuming our libraries can be. When I moved to Sioux City 7 1/2 years ago, I got rid of about 8 boxes of books then. Last summer, to raise money for my Taiwan trip, I sold between 1000 and 1500 bucks worth of books (many duplicated by my Logos software). And I still have a large office full of books.
When Al Mohler sells his library – THAT will be quite a sale.
