Many of the small church guys I talk to on a regular basis just need to be encouraged to stay the course. Our state convention, Tennessee, has taken on the task of engaging, encouraging, and equiping our small rural churches through an affinity team made up of pastors, laymen, and state staff. Like Les, I believe there is good reason to be optimistic about the future of our small rural churches.
