The biggest argument for Calvinism for me (aside from the obvious fact that it's consistent with the Old and New Testament) is that Baptist churches that are markedly reformed also tend to be churches that exposit Scripture, as opposed to just teaching pithy self-righteous moralism wrapped up with a bunch of analogies involving professional sports.
