Southern Baptist Pastors & Local Church Ministers

This page lists all known RSS feeds from Southern Baptist pastors and local church ministers. This would include associate pastors, youth ministers and anyone else recognized by a local Southern Baptist church as a minister. Where this category overlaps with SBC employee, I’ve listed the site in the role most emphasized on their blog. Please email me with new feeds or corrections: TonyKummer@gmail.com.

We are looking for a pastor. Our former pastor has begun a new ministry in another town. We are praying for the right fellow to shepherd our congregation of believers in a church just outside of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. If you are led to reply, pray about it.

Dear Mrs. Hood: December 4, 2009

The Lord can help your husband indeed! I will be praying for him, and you, and the children. I live in northern N. H., and happened to see your comment dated June 25, 2009.

Your husband was in Hillsborough County Jail at the time, struggling with alcohol addiction. How is he doing now?

You stay very close to the Lord, and ask Him to fill you with His love for Himself, for your husband, for the children, and for everyone that you come in contact with.

Do your best to help the children to fall in love with the Lord, and ask for His help to get anything of the world out of your home. With God’s help be a loving wife, and a loving mother, etc.

God be with you! Email me if you wish. In Christ, Bro Ron

Monroe Avenue Baptist Church in Green River, Wyoming is entering their fifth year without a Pastor. They average around 25 in attendance so don’t have a lot to pay a Pastor, but they have a lovely 5 bedroom home to offer. Someone who is retired or self-sufficient or bi-vocational would be perfect! Green River is a field that is ready for harvest – we just need a leader! Please help in any way you can. We covet your prayers!

Lorie Criswell,
I don’t know the pastor you’re looking for, but I thought I might offer some suggestions:

1. Contact any past churches he has pastored. Often a church keeps up with locations of past pastors. Sometimes one or two individuals in a church keep up with a former pastor.
2. Contact the Baptist Association and State Convention of the churches he previously pastored. They may have current information.
3. Every couple of years the Southern Baptist Convention Annual used to include names and addresses of all SBC pastors and preachers including those who are retired. Of course that depends on whether the church where a retired minister is a member includes him in their Annual Church Profile (ACP).
4. The SBC should have those ACP files available in some way that you could access and check on the pastor.
5. Do you know, or can you find out, where the pastor grew up? Someone in that home church or association may have information on him. Also, retired pastors often gravitate back to where they grew up. You know the old saying, “When you’re young you want to get away, when you’re old you want to go back.”
6. State Baptist Papers sometimes carry information about retired pastors who are serving supply preaching or as interim pastors.
7. Now days you can do a google internet search on a person. It helps if they have an unusual name or if you can add a little more information like profession or location.
8. Check with the college or seminary where the pastor attended. They may have his current address. If he ever served with the North American Mission Board or International Mission Board, they may have information on him.

Hope some of this helps.
Sincerely,
David R. Brumbelow

We are searching for a pastor for a Southern Baptist Church. We have about 800 – 1000 members. Our church is located in East Central Alabama. We have a beautiful church with educational wings that house our CDC(Child Development Center) and our K-9th grade school. We are looking for a Sheperd(NOT A CEO) that gives love and receives love from the membership. Someone to help us grow in Spirit and win souls for Jesus Christ Our Lord. We show love and friendship with our community. If interested apply.

John Spivey,
I’m not interested in applying as pastor; I believe I’m where God wants me to be. But I will offer a couple of words of advice.

First, you did not mention the name and address, or contact information, of your pastorless church.

Second, if you have not already done so, you might want to send this information to your state paper, The Alabama Baptist. That is a great way to inform prospective pastors of a church seeking a pastor. Check it out to see how they report it.

I pray God soon leads you and your church to the right man.
