Thanks for your encouragement. I&#039;m getting some perspective. I might write more about it, but not yet.

Most of my experiences as a Southern Baptist, being baptized, being in good little churches, going to SBTS -- all this has been very positive. So, I think there is plenty of good out there in those 40K plus little churches.

It just didn&#039;t represent well in the smelly convention hall with 7K messengers and denominational employees.</description>

My comment refers to this and to your previous post mentioning your disappointment with the recent convention.  I’m not sure exactly the nature of your disappointment but I just wanted to say, don&#039;t quit and don&#039;t give up on Southern Baptists.  At every SBC there is the good, the bad, and the ugly.  

God often works because of Southern Baptists.  But I also praise God that He works in spite of Southern Baptists.  In spite of our bluster, I believe God still has great things in store for the SBC.  

By the way, I love your BP article posted June 13, 2008.  I was encouraged, and convicted.
