I would like to toss around a thought…
What if we completely changed NAMB, maybe even getting rid of it in place of something else?
Here is my idea- get rid of NAMB as its own entity. Replace what NAMB used to be with two different teams. One team will be made up of pastors, church planters, etc in order to help strategize for church planting in North America. None of these people would be paid full time by the convention itself. The second team will be made up of pastors and lay people and will be a team that deals with community development, disaster relief, etc.
This would greatly minimize the role and need for a major entity, an entity that has not been doing great. The tasks would be in the hands of pastors, church planters, and members. It would be something that local churches would be more involved in. We would stop spending so much money paying staff, but rather the money would go to more church planting and community development.
Thoughts? Replace NAMB with two separate teams to do two specific jobs?
*** I just started thinking of this yesterday, so its not that I am 100% sold on it… The point of this post is to throw out a thought and see what you all think. If you don’t like my idea, what do you think needs to be done with NAMB?
