I’m a Droid guy – none of those namby-pamby iPhones for me. But there is a new app for the iPhone and for Droid, available from your phone’s app store, that is specifically designed for 2012 SBC Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
I downloaded the app yesterday and played around with it. Wow! That is going to be helpful in NOLA. It has a map of exhibitors, a detailed copy of the program and lists of the speakers. You can link to Twitter, Facebook and friends.
The app is free, but it looks like its going to be worth a lot during the week.
Thank you to whoever developed this.
Here is the BP article on the app.
Check it OUT!
Nice! Adding to my superior iOS devices now.
Chris, you seem to have accidently typed the word “superior” next to the word iOS. I could correct that for you, if you wish.
I’m an administrator.
Dave:
I like you more and more each day.
I grow on people, kinda like a fungus.
Dave,
iOS is a sign of true grace in the life of a believer.
SG!
You have been assimilated…
I, too, am an Android man (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) – the best smartphone OS by far (can someone say Widgets and Google navigation?) – and was very impressed with the app. I don’t know who designed it, but they did a great job. The only problem is that they need to stop feeding the #sbc tag for Twitter and only do #sbc12 or #sbc2012, whichever is going to be the official hashtag. The #sbc tag is not exclusive to the Southern Baptist Convention and already there have been some shady tweets coming through.
So they made an app that mutes any and all Calvinist motions from the floor?!?
SWEET!!!!!
Only on iPhones.
That would be less painful if it didn’t contain a kernel of truth.
I have a suggestion for the annual meeting and tweets. The hashtag #sbc is basically useless to monitor as there are too many people who use the tag for various things. Maybe 3 out of 10 #sbc tagged tweets are related to the Southern Baptist Convention. I know this because this was one issue with a site I started called http://www.sbctwit.com which monitors live Southern Baptist tweets. So, we really need to push for a unique hashtag for the annual meeting in order for it to be relevant to what we are discussing. The first idea is obviously #sbc2012, but… Read more »
I second that.
I’m liking the app. Have it on both IPHONE & IPAD!!! o:-)
Only suggestion so far would be to allow the user profile to sync between devices. I haven’t been able to do that…am I missing something?
