After a one-year hiatus as a messenger at the SBC, I am back and planning to vote. I will also be writing and covering SBC events as much as I can. I hope you will keep an eye on SBC Voices. I will try to keep those of you who are not here apprised. I might also share an opinion or two – you know me.
I’ve lost my joy at writing on SBC issues. The vitriol and theology of personal destruction adopted by certain segments of keyboard warriors has just sapped all my desire to write. I’ve looked back at some of our early discussions. They were raucous and rowdy, but they weren’t the blood sport that has developed in the SBC. We disagreed, fought, argued, and for the most part, stayed friends. (There were always exceptions.) I’m trying to find my joy again, my desire to reengage on issues. To be clear, I do not hold myself blameless in any of this, but I just lost my desire to engage in the blood sport that social media has become in the last few years.
For the next 3 days, I plan to post my ideas, my thoughts, and my reports about what is going on.
Point #1 – Indianapolis is COLD!
Point #2 – I have 3 Yankees shirts which I intend to wear. I hope to run into Bart Barber to bless him. This may not be widely known, but Bart is considering becoming a Yankees fan. I believe that in my heart!!
