There has been a lot of enthusiasm for having a bloggers’ get-together during the Convention. After some discussion, it seems like the best time to do this is Monday night, right after the closing session of the Pastors Conference (scheduled to end at 9:00 PM). And, if it is New Orleans, it has to be Cafe do Monde.
Now, that is little more than a mile from the Convention Center. I don’t know if any of the buses run that way, but who among us couldn’t use a brisk walk (followed by pastries)?
You are invited. Bring friends. Unless someone wealthy comes along, you are responsible for your own beignets and coffee.
I really do want to meet as many of you as possible during the week.
I will tweet more than I normally do, so follow me @davemiller7 and I will tweet my thoughts and my location. Honestly, if you are there, I want to meet you.
Here’s a map and some directions.
Single tear.
Wish I could make it, but I’ll be watching the meeting in my housecoat from my mom’s basement….errrr…I mean church office.
Sounds good, and I’ll be there. Looking forward to putting faces to names and having face-to-face conversations. I’ll be walking there unless buses are running. Look for the guy wearing the “John Calvin is my homeboy” t-shirt. Lime green, of course.
Hmmm, seems to be more like 527.85 miles for me. Don’t think I can make the trek. You guys have fun.
Leave your address, we will mail you the leftovers.
Mail order beignets? I knew this blog was good for something.
Just mail William the check, Dave. LOL
I’m only coming if Dave wears his lime green suit.
To this point, my wife has been adamant about the lime green suit!
And no, it is not an issue on which she had any intent on submitting.
Looking forward to being there and meeting some fellow brothers and bloggers.
I will be at the SBC, but I can’t meet Monday night. I’d love to get to meet some of you….e-mail me at jgray621 (at) gmail . Joshua and Chris, I definitely want to meet you guys….and of course, future 2VP Miller.
Just a tip: Public buses won’t run that close to the French Quarter. Better off taking a cab. Rountrip $20. Be careful at night. The Convention Center is close to a sketchy area. You’re alrite so as long as you go northeast of the convention center and not southwest. Also, do not walk along the river at night no matter how good of an idea it may seem at the time. You are bound to get jumped and/or robbed. Just a tip from a local. (PS. Its Café du* Monde). Enjoy NOLA! 😉
And even if they did, I still would not recommend taking the buses.
