I will be leaving in the middle of the night to head to Senegal for a week. I go there twice a year to do evangelistic work with a UUPG in the Casamance region.
I’d planned to go back in November for a full trip but my health problems made that impossible. I am piggy-backing on a trip Bart Barber planned to do some training and to meet with some of the chiefs and others. I need to let them know what I am not coming back in November and what has happened to me over the last few months.
If all goes well, I will be back next Wednesday.
There are a number of issues I’d ask for prayer about.
- While I am recovering I am not recovered. I would appreciate prayer that my health holds out while I am there.
- There has been a long-term uprising in the area we travel to, which seemed to have calmed down over the last few years. In the early part of this year, things seemed to be picking up again and there was some random violence in the area. Pray for our safety.
- While this will not be a full evangelistic trip, I do have some strategic decisions I need to make about my work among the Ehing people.
The guys will manage things around here.
I will be back in time for the beginning of the Yankees march to their 28th World Series.
