When World Changers pulled out of several Midwestern cities (and other non-Southern areas), it became clear that if we wanted to have this wonderful ministry continue, we would have to do it as an independent partnership. So, we have formed a network of churches in Northwest Iowa to develop a new mission project called LifeChanger Missions. It provides similar ministry opportunities to those World Changers used to provide, but with lower overhead and significantly lower cost to those who volunteer. Here are some highlights about this new ministry:
Vision statement: Changing lives one house at a time.
Mission statement: Training teenagers and college students for Christian missions by improving the lives of families through home repair and evangelism.
The LifeChanger Missions projects will include home repair for low income families in need of assistance. The types of repairs will include roofs, porches, windows, doors, siding, painting, wheelchair ramps, sidewalk and steps, etc. Each project will include a volunteer team consisting of a Project Team Leader, Construction Team Leader, Missions Team Leader and Worship Team Leader. The operations staff, including office support, will directly support the Project Team Leader. The Worship Team leader will be a local volunteer and will be responsible for the evening worship services to include the speaker and music ensemble.
Field Supervisors will oversee the operations in the field working with the Construction Team Leader. Each field supervisor will have a support team that will manage supplies and materials for each site.
Leadership for each site will include a Coach and Team Captains.
Cost: $209 per participant
The theme for 2013 is “Answer the Call”
Sioux City 2013 Event: June 15-22
