Former VP Joe Biden said something at the end of the recent debate that really made me think. He stated, “Look at us.”
I did exactly as he asked. Then I looked through both him and President Donald Trump. I looked so far through them both that I saw behind Mr. Biden his running mate, Senator Harris. Looking through and behind Mr. Trump, I saw Vice President Pence.
Then it struck me. Both Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden are old men just like me. The reality for all old men is that any of us can fall dead at any moment. That’s just the way life works.
If either one of these guys is elected POTUS, it is very possible that they could die before the end of their term.
Then, either Kamala Harris or Mike Pence would become POTUS. Now, if that happened, it would not so much affect me personally. After all, I am old also. I don’t have all that many years ahead of me at this point no matter what.
However, it would have a consequential effect upon my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. So, in voting for POTUS this time, that’s going to be a primary consideration for me.
