Like the Pirates Code, many of my rules are more like guidelines than they are actual rules, and I know that articles about Trump/Clinton/the election have been one of my staples in recent weeks, but I think we need to take a break. C’mon guys. Let’s talk about the Calvinist conspiracy, or beverage alcohol, or whether strict tithing is still required biblically.
Here’s the thing: there’s a lot of stuff to talk about but there comes a point when we keep saying the same things over and over again.
- NeverTrump.
- A vote for Trump is a vote for Hillary.
- Lesser of evils.
- Trump is not qualified.
There’s not much new going on and we’ve just been arguing the same things over and over. I have not changed my mind one bit and I don’t regret my stands an iota. But I do think we are in danger of getting obsessive.
So, since I’m still sorta kinda in some ways supposta be the bossman around here, I’m going to throw my substantial weight around and declare a Trumpcation. Let’s talk about ministry, and theology, and SBC issues. Anything but the most divisive election in Milky Way history.
I am going to close comments on all the other Trump/election-related posts. I’m not going to post anything else on the election until at least next Monday. Of course, that could change if the situation warrants. Earth-shattering news that changes the landscape of the election may require a reevaluation. But for now, let’s take a break.
Take a deep breath.
You know what, Mike Leake had a pretty good post today that got ignored as people said the same thing about Trump for the 485th time. Anyone have any good stuff to submit that DOESN’T have to do with the Donald or Hillary or even my new guy Evan?
Let’s think about something else for a while.
