I know that many of you are social media friends with Bart Barber. He is in Dakar, Senegal and having great trouble making connections to Ziguinchor, the ministry base from which his work with the Bayot people launches. He does amazing work there – God is at work among that UPG.
He nearly missed his flight, then the Dakar to Zig flight was booked. The boat that sometime runs isn’t running. He needs to get to Zig and he is having trouble. He’s incredibly patient and may already have found a way, I don’t know. Once you are in country, Internet becomes spotty at best.
Pray for Bart as he attempts to get to the Casamance region to continue his work there.
Of course, the work gets much more complicated next Wednesday when, Lord willing, I will join him! Then he will truly be standing in the need of prayer.
Seriously, pray that God would bless Bart and part the Red (tape) Sea so that he can get to Zinguinchor, then to Nyassia, and begin his work with the Bayot.
One thing, though. You might want to pray for Asagen Sagna. That’s the name the people of that region know and LOVE him by. So, I guess I should change the title to “Pray for Asagen Sagna.” Nah, we are 2 hours from home after a looooong trip and I’m too lazy to change.
We will be returning together on the 15th, so your prayers for our work there will be appreciated throughout the next couple of weeks. I’m going to work with a UUPG Bart identified (cousins to the Bayot), known as the Essing people. One man from my church is coming with me. Good news is that I’ll get PLENTY of exercise!
