Longtime blogger Tim Rogers has announced plans to set up a second Pastor’s Conference in Phoenix this summer, because so many Baptists are upset with the list of speakers that were announced by Vance Pitman for “Aspire”, the established Pastor’s Conference.
While details are still sketchy, there have been a few speakers and musicians announced.
Keynote Speaker: Steve Anderson from Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona will be delivering some old-fashioned Baptist, fire and brimstone preaching.
Tim has released a clip of a sermon he will be presenting himself, addressing a hot topic in this world today.
He has promised that decorum will be maintained, that proper preacherly dress codes will be enforced at all times.

Tim has assured me that he does not want the Alternate Pastor’s Conference to be glum. To that end, Tim has booked well-known worship leader Rick Pino to get the group moving. Don’t forget to wear clean socks, folks.
Tim has promised more details to follow.
Quite a busy day blogging, eh Mr. Miller? Just think, on April 1 in 2 years, unless a leap year intervenes to clog the machinery, you can apply your gifts to your Sunday sermons. Thanks to you, I am going to petition my church to send me to Phoenix as a messenger.
Next year is a leap year.
Following on the heels of the popular voting of SBCVoices’ “Blog Madness”, the conference will also announce the winners of “PreacherGames 2011”. You already got a sneak peak above in the first video clip of the 2011 PreacherGames Winner for “Best Non-Sequitur Homiletical Filler”. And the Winner is: Sanderson1611, for filling 11 seconds of Awkward 1611 King James Only Pulpit Supply with “Man, wasn’t the camping trip fun?” Let’s watch the replay, look at that action: 00:00:53 This is what he said in Exodus 28:42… [Back to pulpit, pages rustling] 00:00:54 [Bible pages still rustling.] Man, wasn’t the camping trip… Read more »
Dave: Just a gentle reminder that April Fools Day ends at 12:00 am CST. 🙂
Oy vay! It ends at sundown—we’ve moved SBCVoices to a more Biblically appropriate time standard: Evening begins the next day. Those of you towards the coast, happy Saturday!
“Evening begins the next day” looks odd.
The 2nd of April will begin at Sundown Friday, and run through sundown on Saturday. You get the point. It’s not funny anymore because I blew the punchline.
Shabbat Shalom
Sundown . . . light the Sabbath candles . . .

Hey, I’m in a meeting in Des Moines – I did all this last night and scheduled them to post.
I still don’t understand. What is this April Fool’s you folks speak of?
Too bad this post is not one of the April Fool’s Day joke posts.
😉
Again, what is this April Fool’s Day of which you speak?
I hear Michael Vigilante will also lead in worship: http://youtu.be/g6lBopUbtqY
Please, Paul…please tell me that is a setup.
Dave, I have no idea. I just saw that recently and was…uh….stunned.
Oh good grief. Like watching a couple arguing in public…you know you should look away but you just can’t. I have no idea if the guy can sing or not, and I have never heard of him so I can’t question his heart. I just hope he is genuine.
Paul,
Recent studies indicate laughter reduces blood pressure. After this 6:44 I will never have blood pressure issues again.
Brother Dave,
You forgot to announce that I have you scheduled to preach the sermon regarding the continuation of the gifts. I have also scheduled the next TD Jakes to preach at this alternative conference. You can see him Here
🙂
Blessings,
Tim
Youtube is a marvelous thing.
Oh my goodness gracious. Steven Anderson? **sigh** I live within 30 miles of this total nutcase. He hates the Border Patrol, prayed publicly for BHO to get brain cancer like Ted Kennedy. He thinks all men obstetriticians are perverted, and well, I could go on and on forever. Luckily Phoenix Reformed Baptist church is only a bit further and that is a great destination. A reformed brother on YouTube made this video of Anderson having a full blown hissy fit about Calvinism which Anderson doesn’t seem to understand at all. Though, he also thinks that Seminaries and Bible Colleges are… Read more »
There are a LOT of videos of this guy. He seems to be a real piece of work.
A “real piece of work”, indeed.
He puts up a new video every week. Yet his church has been around for about 6 years and can’t break a consistent 35 people in attendance. I’m guessing that these videos aren’t helping
Here is my all-time favorite. No, I’m not joking. It’s called “He Who Pisseth against the wall” Sorry the use of profanity.

See, I knew I had seen this guy before. I saw this a few months back somewhere. It is kinda “pithy” though.
Anderson really shows the love of Christ in this video: http://www.youtube.com/user/sanderson1611#p/u/6/hdtJwg_8aG8.
Oops, I forgot, I really will be attending Aspire. Seriously, no joke. It’s close to me, and IT’S FREE! I intend to be there to hear what John Piper has on his heart.
I found a place where he’s right in the sermon. It’s at the end : “This is the kind of preaching people don’t like!”
You nailed it there, brother.
that’s funny
People like Steven Anderson are the one of the reasons that any mention of dress code is deemed legalism. Such a shame.
Break past it and wear a dress this Sunday.
Or wear pants for the first time. It’ll be ok.
The wireless internet at the hotel here in Fargo is killing me with its turtlelike qualities at the moment so I have no chance to see all of these videos. I only got halfway through the pants one before it quit on me. Praying for a breakthrough. Wireless be healed.
If you saw half, you saw enough.
Pants guy is scary.
I think I have seen him before this, but yeah, my computer had enough of it at about the halfway mark and refused to show any more of it.
This is the best post of SBC Voices – ever!
Every time I hear Steven Anderson I laugh my head off, but I sam very sad at the same time. He clearly has some speaking talent, but was never properly trained and has gone off the deep end.
Louis, I ALWAYS enjoy your posts. Anderson is one sick, sick pup. He HATES, I mean really HATES, homosexuals and has said that he believes that are totally reprobate and cannot be saved, EVER. If you listen to enough of these vids, it’s easy to see how he always manages to get in his disdain for anyone who doesn’t see the Bible as he does, but gays get the brunt of it. Add that his wife follows him in everything. She calls people “trashy single moms, queers, fairies” and believes a woman should never go to a doctor unless they… Read more »
“e clearly has some speaking talent, but was never properly trained and has gone off the deep end.
”
Paul admits he had no “speaking talent” in the scriptures. Guess he was not properly trained. :o)
Lydia,
Where exactly in the Scriptures does Paul say he has NO “speaking talent”?
You forgot Ergun Caner. If Tim Rogers is organizing another PC, then Caner will surely be speaking, even if he is the warm up act.
Dave,
I awoke this morning to find out this was not true. Of all the “April Fool’s posts” you put up, this is the one I really thought might be true.
I think that all day, Todd, we only had one person who thought a post was serious.
Todd, since you guys have not maintained it, do you think I could take over SBC TooDazed.
I always suspected that was you guys and Marty Duren.
I cannot believe you think this would have any connection to me or any of my mysterious friends. I will do some sleuthing and see what I can find out.
What’s SBC TooDazed?
Yeah
