I knew going into the final weekend that Blog Madness at SBC Voices would be something special. The finish was close, almost too close.

It looked pretty bleak for The Founders Blog there for a while, but Tom responded with an emphatic, “Not in my house!” to seal the deal.
Is this a yearly bit or every 4 years like the Olympics?
What are the odds on Tom repeating?
I know I’ll be working my body HARD this off-season in hopes of breaking the Sweet 16 next time around.
GUNNY HARTMAN’s last blog post..Sounds like somebody’s got a case of the Mondays.
Hold the phone. I thought at 8:01 last night Steve still had the most votes. Is this wrong? Timmy was watching. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tom and am happy if he won, I just thought it played out another way.
Joe Thorn’s last blog post..Man’s Chief End
The ending time is very suspicious, I almost wonder if Timmy hacked into my WordPress dashboard. I guess I should be more creative with my passwords!
C’mon, Joe!
Just because a plethora of Tom’s voters accidentally voted for Pat Buchanan doesn’t mean Hanging Chad undermined the process.
GUNNY HARTMAN’s last blog post..Good relations with the Wookies, I have.
Wait a minute guys. Yes I was watching. Tom was down eight votes with six minutes to go. I can’t remember if I was on at 8:01 p.m. EST, but I do know that the vote total was not that high at the time.
According to my comment at 8:08 pm, the total vote count was 666, whereas the current count is 688. That’s a 22 vote difference. Don’t know how or where those votes went or if they made a difference, but that’s my take on it.

Timmy, at 8:08 who had the most votes? Surely you noticed that. You said Steve was “cursed” because of the number, and I took that to mean he had won.

Joe,
That’s correct – at 8:08 p.m. But I cannot say what was at exactly 8:01 p.m. (if that makes sense). Could there have been some votes for Steve during that window of time? Perhaps. I just refreshed it at that time, and when I saw the “666” I was, well, a little taken back. 🙂
I’m going to let Kummer handle this. For the record, I had nothing to do with the contest and could not hack into a dashboard even if I was given the steps to do it.

The votes have been recounted – and yes the final score has been overturned!
Thanks again to the blog watchdogs.
Timmy- I audited the other two voters as well, they each lost one vote for being after 8:01 pm.
The total vote count was 666
As we say in Aggieland, that is bad bull.
“The total vote count was 666”
Uh … we don’t even have an expression for that!
GUNNY HARTMAN’s last blog post..Good relations with the Wookies, I have.
Tony,
The final vote count was 666?! I have several concerns:
1. What does this say about the contest?
2. What does this reveal about the winners?
3. Does this divulge anything about Tony and his blog?
4. What does this disclose about Southern Baptist bloggers?
5. Is this a sign concerning Calvinists and/or Arminians?
6. And by the way, who exactly is the Antichrist? For those who will be receiving my book, see page 61, Identity of the Antichrist.
7 (the perfect #). Should I have even participated in such a tainted contest?
Not so sincerely or seriously,
David R. Brumbelow
PS – Congratulations to the winners! Tony, great contest.
Tony…666 or 777, this contest was fun. For me, anyway.
On a different note, may I say that I truly appreciate the directory you’ve put together here? I really love the convenience of it. And maybe we could have more contests on other topics. Like favorite quip, comment, comeback, witticism, tidbit of wisdom. I’m terrible at organizing stuff, and I admire someone like you who is gifted in that area. selahV

Was there a hanging chad?
Amen to selahV on the links. As I continue to make my way through the original 64+, I’m encouraged. There’s some positive stuff and solid people in the SBC.
