Saw this over at Denny Burk’s site, then followed it to Youtube. Would ESPN intentionally cut away from a Tebow-related discussion because it got too “religious?”
I’m guessing this is just a glitch, but it is a very suspiciously-timed one!

I appreciate the heads-up on this over at my blog. As far as I can tell, this whole kerfuffle started with a post on Rant Sports earlier today. Although I have been accused of believing in various conspiracy theories in the past, I would find it hard to believe that this was intentional. I’m inclined, without more to go on, to agree with you that this was “just a glitch.” That being said, I do think that Tebow will continue to be a target because of his Christian faith. And, maybe because of his football skills 🙂 Thanks and God bless,
Finally a conspiracy theory Dave will entertain! You know, ONE glitch I can understand. “Whoops, I pressed the button and we’re selling vistaprint business cards!” But when the SECOND one came on, that was enough to put me over the edge. I think the technician was saying, “Enough with all this religious jibber jabber. Let’s talk CATHETERS!”
No, but I’m pretty sure the guy talking about catheters was a Five Pointer! 🙂

Great interview. Both men were respectable of each other. Both men had good points. Both men supported their position. On the other hand, ESPN was using a new method of advertising. Yes, it was done on purpose to keep you watching. However, it was ineffective because I had to watch it twice to remember the commercial. If I purchased the time slot for my commercial I would ask for a refund. Wish Tebow was on the Texans. 🙂

Skip is a total blowhard. I lost all respect for him when he put in his book that Troy Aikman was gay.
Skip was run out of Dallas as a sportswriter that couldnt write and a radio talk show host that pulled horrendous ratings.
I happened to catch him on the tube ( couldn’t get to the channel changer fast enough) a month or so ago, what kind of toupe is he wearing??
If it wasn’t intentional, then I think Skip would come right out and shoot the rumor down either on the air or most likely through his Twitter account. He hasn’t as of yet which leads one to believe that he’s probably trying to figure out how to respond to his boss censoring him. Until he addresses it and denies that that’s what happened, it will continue to have legs.
Not a fan of Skip at all, and I’ve written about him on my blog before, but I don’t think they intentionally did that to “censor” him or anything.
Mainly because they’ve had conversations on the show before about Tebow and his faith, and Skip’s gone on about a supposed persecution or whatever of Tebow specifically and Christianity in general, so I don’t see why they’d do it now.
Also I subscribe to the podcast of the show (please don’t judge me lol) and it was there in it’s entirety there. ESPN has been known to edit their podcasts and remove things that are deemed “offensive” or whatever, most notably to Bill Simmons’ podcasts.
If it was a “plot”, I don’t think they would’ve come back to the discussion. I’d go with the glitch.
And I DO love a good conspiracy, but not this time.

The real conspiracy is Skip Bayless getting air time. ESPN pretty much automatically is in the business of lowering the USA’s IQ, but to go the extra mile hiring Skip?

Boy, some people see a boogeyman behind every bush. I mean, conspiracy theories over something with no proof!!! If there’s really a conspiracy going on here, then offer some tangible facts. I’m sure that ESPN is just full of Christian haters, who are trying to take over ESPN and the country. I mean, I’ve NEVER seen any Christian haters at ESPN. I’ve never had a meeting with people, who hate the Christian faith, at ESPN.
All of these conspiracy theories and boogeymen have just got to STOP!
Actually, I’d hang out with either of them in a flash. Be a lot of fun. Plus there may be an opportunity to share the Gospel with them, if they don’t already know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
I’m reasonably sure Jesus would hang out with both Skip Bayless or Stephen A. Smith. A Pharisee might not hang out with either of them, but Jesus probably would.
As a New York Jets fan and a Tebow supporter even I get tired of the constant coverage of Tim Tebow on ESPN. I mean these guys milk a story to death. We just had a bunch of Christian athletes win medals in the Olympics and all kinds of other things happen in sports.

It is the most inconvenient glitch ever!

The second one does raise some suspicions. Plus, did you see the black helicopters and green men in the background?
No, but I’m pretty sure the guy talking about catheters was a Five Pointer! 🙂

I really can’t believe that ESPN is paying him…
It was a red toupee.

Bayless > Stephen A. Smith by far.
Not sure I’d want to hang out with either.

They are both stealing money
