I may have missed a few of the motions while I was talking to some guys out in the hallway. Sorry.
came in late and Wiley Drake was at the mic!
HE moved that Ronnie Floyd run for president of the USA.
Steve Bailey – motion change bylaws that each person that each must include percentages of the candidate given to CP in nominating speech.
Alan Cross – Gateway Baptist – moved that SBC commend the report of the Executive committe on racial issues. Seconded by the entire SBC Voices contingent. (Todd Benkert out-shouted me)
Tim Barnett – move to amendment of Bylaw 10 to hear a speech from each nominee, not just from the one making the nominating speech.
One man asked they turn down the music volume!! (8 people applauded).
It was more than 8 :). This is the worst audio I’ve ever experienced for a convention. Music is loud and speakers get lost in echo of room. Just odd.
“One man asked they turn down the music volume!!”
Well, this is the SBC after all. I’m guessing a thermostat motion is next.
Aren’t the motions from Bailey and Barnett offered by someone every year?
And then go splat, every year?
Perhaps we should list certain items as “Dead Horse 1,” “Dead Horse 2,” etc…thus allowing one of us to stand up in St. Louis and say “I move Dead Horse 1!”
FWI,
If you are not keeping up with “Fake JD Greear” Tweets then you are missing out!
Tyler, confess up … you are “Fake JD Greear” aren’t you?!
hahahaha! I wish I was that clever 🙂 But alas…tis not me.
Thanks for clearing that up, Tyler. I will now confess that I’m not the Church Curmudgeon on Twitter.
