Tony, I suppose I know “the story.” 🙂 SBC Outpost wrote their final post about a week ago. They indicated that they were finished with the effort. After talking things over with one of my fellow contributors, I was encouraged to approach them regarding the sbcoutpost.com domain. I inquired if they were going to shut down the site or renew the domain. I asked that, if they were planning to shut down the site, we (sbc IMPACT!) might take ownership of the domain. It has been a few weeks, so I don’t remember exactly, but basically the folks at SBC Outpost felt like the site had outlived its usefulness. With Ben Cole out of the game, I believe interest in the site had waned a bit. And I believe they didn’t want to have a site just for the sake of having one, didn’t want to conjur up things to talk about it that would not have any edificational value. Others may remember better.
This word from the sbcIMPACT! site: Recently, the folks over at SBC Outpost announced that they were closing up shop. In a parting note, Paul Littleton was kind enough to guide their readership our way. Since then, the Outpost team agreed to transfer and redirect their domain name to our site, not only to prevent the domain from being purchased by those with ill intents (a common practice nowadays), but also to point their readership to a site that may contain content of interest to their readers. My RSS feeds counted all your posts as belonging to the SBC OUTPOST feed also, I’ve fixed it now. Thanks
