It doesn’t hurt that both Saban and Smart are paid more than other coaches. It doesn’t hurt that both schools have assistant coaches who make over a million a year.

I used to play football on the UGA practice fields as a kid. Nice turf. Now it’s a secure area and the indoor field is more locked down than the Vet school’s Level 3 research lab.
I see no way to convince top athletes to live in Ann Arbor where the average high temps are almost or below freezing three months of the year.
