Over the past two years, I have learned more about SBC/Baptist life than I ever have in the churches I’ve worked with. I’ve seen the good and the bad, said the good and the bad, and have grown a ton through my interactions here. Thank you all, especially Dave and the regulars for your support, encouragement, and correction as I’ve become a man in many ways through my experiences here.
I leave SBC Voices with great appreciation for my time here, and will always be thankful for it! I’m working at an Acts 29 church now (I know… I know…), but will likely always be a Southern Baptist by conviction. As for where I’m going… I will be the editor for a new blog venture called Project TGM. This blog will include well-known SBC’ers Micah Fries and Owen Strachan along with some non-SBC faces you may or may not recognize. With my duties and responsibilites in getting Project TGM off the ground, I will be stepping away from my personal blog, as well.
Stay in touch at my new location, but remember that our commenting policies are significantly more strict than Dave’s. 😉
You do know you just officially outed Bro Micah as a member of the “Vast Calvinist Wing Takeover Conspiracy” (VCWTC). I mean, associating with someone who is apart of an Acts29 church?!?!? What would the people in the pews think!!
PS…I think this sarcasm thing is contagious.
PSS…Seriously though, God be with you in your future endeavors.
Haha! Thank you, sir.
Good riddance.
Uh…er…I mean…best wishes.
And I’d watch that Fries fella.
Well, we’re down a contributor. That means somebody’s got to write more.
All the best in the new endeavor, Brandon.
I’m sure Chris Roberts would volunteer to fill the void, guys.
🙂
Volunteer? No. They’d have to pay me. I’m thinking $75k/yr would be fair? Maybe folks can pitch in for the “finance Chris Roberts on SBC Voices” fund? Someone? Anyone? I’ve got my hat out here… *chirp chirp*
Is that a tax-deductible contribution?
Well if it helps, I won’t tax you for it
Well, if I hadn’t just given to the “Relief Fund for Semi_Pelagian Widows” I’d consider it. Sorry.
That’s not quite what we pay our other contributors, but if you will settle for that, good.
Wait… what?
Brandon,
We rarely had any interaction, but you always presented yourself kindly and respectfully.
You will be in our prayers (my husband and I) as you move on to this next adventure in serving the Lord. Your new church will be blessed.
Romans 8:28-39
Brandon, I appreciate your ministry brother. I hope your new endeavors accomplish much for the Kingdom.
Also, remember us when you’re famous!
Can I just say… I miss my 600-comment posts of the old days befor we kicked out Stephen Fox and the crazies. They taught me more about the CR than any book. 😉
Yeah, I really miss those days. Oh, wait.
Brandon,
Best of luck in your new endeavor. By the way, I could not help but notice, after checking your website, that ALL SIX of your contributors have facial hair–if you count that little soul patch thing on Micah Fries.
Thank you for clearly identifying yourselves with the reformed position on facial hair. 🙂
One bearded terrorist at a time! 😉
