It is what it is Sports Fans. So, if you are going to watch a Bowl Game tonight you will have to settle for two Lesser Nations playing in the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl. The Fresno St. Bulldogs play the SMU Mustangs. Fresno State is 9-3 and SMU is 6-6.
Maybe an Elvis impersonator will sing Blue Hawaii during half time.

I think they should come out with a “Scott Bowl”. That’s where the two
schools that have the poorest record play one another. Pack Rat!
Actually, Jess Alford, the NCAA did name a Bowl Game after me.
It was the CBS National Championship Bowl.
But the guy who made the first Billboard and TV commercial suffered from Dyslexia.
He wrote it BCS National Championship Bowl.
The NCAA wanted to change it. But, me being the kind and compassionate soul that I am told them to leave it alone and not embarrass the guy. (He was from Iowa. I think his last name was Miller.)
So now the CBS is now the BCS and now you know the rest of the story.
Brother Paul–and perhaps his dear Lynne “Angel” Cooper Harvey who is credited with originating his “Rest Of The Story” segment–just turned in his grave…
I have to repeat before I’m asked (again): his stage name concludes with his (given) middle name. His family name was Aurandt. We are only related in that I was once an avid fan because of his stage name and storytelling skills.
SEC CB–I wouldn’t be on here except for the fact that we’ve had major thunderstorms move through our area. The lightning woke me up early, so I’m here.
I read this morning that Saban might be headed to the NFL. The same is true for my own Chip Kelly. Makes sense for Kelly since the Ducks are being investigated by the NCAA, but Saban? Oh, the humanity…….
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good morning! God has blessed north central Texas with much need rain today!
I doubt he will go to the Browns. He may leave, but not next year. He will try for three National Championships in a row. Then, maybe he will consider a move, but not to the Browns . . . . Patriots maybe.
Bear won two in a row twice. As far as I know, no D1 coach has won three in a row.
If Saban leads the TIDE to win against the IRISH, he could possibly do it again next year. However, the odds will certainly be against him. There are just too many great coaches and teams in the SEC for one team to continually dominate.
I do not have Dave Miller’s credentials, but since he is off in the bushes or deep woods somewhere licking his wounds because the BUZZARD-EYES are not worthy to even play in one of the Lesser Bowls and sulking around because the SABANATION is in the BCS National Championship; I will make the correction for you in the thread because your point is very well taken and should be addressed.
KSU should be playing the SABANATION in the BCS National Championship. But, they, as have others before them, took the Texas Baptist Preacher’s School known as the BAYLOR BEAR NATION for granted and got stomped and clawed out of any possibility to play the CRIMSON ELEPHANT.
The CRIMSON ELEPHANT now has to settle for a little Monk School from South Bend whose players wear little sparkly gold headgear and sing a funeral song for their fight song as opponents in the National Championship.

Slim Pickins tonight, Sports Fans,
The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl is up for grabs in the Motor City and Home of Motown, Detroit, Michigan. Western Kentucky meets up with Central Michigan on ESPN.
I’ll watch it and maybe eat some Papa Johns Pizza, ’cause Little Caesars Pizza taste like cardboard with cheese spread on top.
I see no reason to suffer through bad pizza and Lesser Conference FOOTBALL on the same night.
I guess I will have to cheer for Western Kentucky ’cause I have a brother who played baseball there ’til he fell in love with an Education major and quit the team so he could spend more time with her. Some guys just can’t get their priorities straight.
Setting aside the spiritual condition of infants for other important matters, cb might be interested to know that I depart for Mississippi tomorrow where, among other things, I intend to spend time in Bulldog Country when viewing the Gator Bowl. I expect to lose a certain degree of hearing ability after being around the sweet melody of cowbells.
May all the joys of the FOOTBALL UNIVERSE be upon you in your travels and may the scope of your FOOTBALL understanding be enlightened as you are among inhabitants of SEC NATIONS.
Do the Baptist Blog World a favor and take Randall Cofield with you to the Gator Bowl. Let him enjoy the game and feed him well.
On the trip back home, tie pork chops around his neck and place him lovingly in a swamp filled with animal kingdom ‘Gators. They will gladly take over from there.
Afterwards, enjoy the remainder of your trip back home.
Chris, there are no theological problems in the SBC that cannot be helped by MORE COWBELL!!

Hey Sports Fans! Today is the Belk Bowl between DUKE and CINCINNATI. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy! OK. I know. Why would anybody be happy about DUKE playing CINCINNATI? Well, let me give you some background and maybe generate a little “Mercy Cheering” for the DUKE BLUE DEVIL NATION even if they are part of the Lesser ACC. DUKE did go 6-6 this year. That is pretty good for the BLUE DEVILS. They have not won a Bowl Game since 1960. They beat ARKANSAS 7-6 in the Cotton Bowl. The last time they even went to a Bowl Game was back in 1994, losing against WISCONSIN 20-34 in the Hall of Fame Bowl. They have been to only eight (8) Bowl Games in their history. (A FOOTBALL NATION, they ain’t.) Another reason (and the most important) to grant Mercy Cheering to DUKE is because Tommy Tuberville, evil former coach of AUBURN, became the new head coach of CINCINNATI on 12-08-12. He will not be taking a major role in coaching the team today, but his very presence demands justice and a loss to such a bunch who would hire him to coach the glorious game of FOOTBALL. So let’s have some Mercy Cheering for the BLUE DEVIL NATION today. Go BLUE DEVILS GO! Oh yeah, before some wag out there calls attention to the fact that one of DUKE’S Bowl wins came at the expense of the CRIMSON TIDE, let me explain what actually happened for those of you Sports Fans who have little knowledge of world history. DUKE beat the CRIMSON TIDE in the Sugar Bowl in 1944, 29-26. Did you notice the year? That’s right, 1944. Sports Fans, in 1944 every able bodied male FOOTBALL player between 12 to 100 in the state of Alabama was off fightin’ Hitler’s Germany and the Emperor’s Japan to save the free world as were all of the other Country lovin’, Flag wavin’ men and boys within the SEC. Therefore, the CRIMSON TIDE fielded, for the first and only time in American history, a FOOTBALL team made up of girls, mostly cheerleaders and female education majors. Yeah, they got beat, but only by three (3) points. Most Sports historians (me included) believe that if Alabama’s Lady Welders had not had to go to the shipyards in Mississippi to build Battleships for the Navy, we would have won that Bowl Game by at least… Read more »

DUKE started well, but just could not hang on to the FOOTBALL against, CINCINNATI, future home of Evil Tommy Tuberville. Fumbles killed them.
The BAYLOR BEAR NATION had no such problem as they peeled and shelled the fruits and nuts from the West Coast, UCLA.
BAYLOR gave UCLA a FOOTBALL education to a Master’s level, winning easily, 49-26, in the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl.

I stayed up way too late last night watching FOOTBALL. There are three Bowl Games today, but I am not going to watch them all. If I do, my wife might declare me as an addict and send me off to an FA group (Footballics Anonymous). So, I will pick just one game to watch today and one game only.
I will watch the HOKIE NATION play the RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS NATION in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
I realize that real FOOTBALL does not exist in Virginia (NO SEC NATION there). However, I lived in the Old Dominion for a long time and often went with VT grads to watch the HOKIE NATION. I have to admit that I developed a fondness for the little ACC wannabes.
They do have a good coach in Frank Beamer, I must admit and they have had some great FOOTBALL players in the past.
However, the HOKIE NATION (6-6) has had a disappointing season. They were in the Sugar Bowl last year. Now, here they are trying to avoid their first losing season since 1992 as they appear in their 20th straight bowl appearance.
The RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS are 9-4 and have had some good seasons in the past several years. Will they be able to take the beaming shine from Frank Beamer’s eyes today?
I don’t think so. Frank Beamer is always at his best when his back is to the wall. The HOKIE NATION will defeat the SCARLET KNIGHTS today and I shall be watching, eating B-B-Q turkey legs as I do in honor of the HOKIE grads who I still remember as good friends from times gone by.
That game set football back 20 years. The execution by both teams was just turrible. Inept does not begin to touch the turrible-ness of Nova and Thomas at QB. Turrible.
Even though it will be played in a winter storm in NYC today, my Mountaineer nation will be suiting up Geno Smith, Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey for the last time together against Sorry Excuse University. I hate to see those 3 go, but the NFL is calling. Let’s goooooooo, Mountaineers!
The VPI Chokies won’t play us any more. They killed one of the best “border war” rivalries in college football with their chicken move to the Always Cupcake Conference in 2005. I want the Black Diamond Trophy back.
My theology teaching brother who has forgotten so much history.
If you remember, the folks in Blacksburg decided to stop playing the WV RIDGE-RUNNER NATION because every time they played in Morgantown, the RIDGE-RUNNER fans threw cans, bottles, home brew jars, mobile home parts, and coal buckets at the coaches, players, and fans from VT.
Beamer and the gang wanted to be able to play in Bowl Games without having to do so in stitches and on crutches. Besides, repainting all the travel busses after the trip to Morgantown got to be expensive.
What made it worse was that the RIDGE-RUNNER Fans could not spell all the profanity right and Kentucky Fans thought the VT busses were throwing slurs toward the WILDCAT NATION.
Therefore, in a desire not to cause a Mountain Man feud of the proportions of the Hatfield-McCoy War, VT decided to cease the trips to West Virginia.
You forgot batteries. D-batteries make great projectiles.
That’s Beamer’s story. I’m not buying it. Besides, VT fans were pretty unhospitable too.
Seriously, though, being in the ACC has set VT football back years. They are not nearly as tough as they were when they were Independent in the 80s or Big East in the 90s and early 2000s. They (and all the “nations” that take football seriously in the ACC) need to get out of there ASAP and get into a conference that is not basketball-first.
We agree about the ACC. When I lived in North Carolina, I thought FOOTBALL had died as a sport when I went to a DUKE, NC STATE game, and especially when I went to see the TAR HEELS play.
I remember the halftime shows were pep talks by Basketball coaches and introductions of new basketball recruits and replays from the previous season’s great basketball plays on the stadium big screen.
The ACC is no doubt the worst of all the Lesser Conferences.
True, and all they are doing to strengthen themselves is add basketball schools.
They have added Pitt, Syracuse, Louisville and the Dames in BB only. None of those full additions (except Louisville) take football seriously, and Louisville historically is only as good as their coach. ND will NEVER join the ACC in football fully. They will ultimately end up in the Big 10 where they belong or remain indy. I think UNC, UVA, and GT will ultimately ditch the ACC for likely the Big 10 or SEC. VT will likely end up SEC, and FSU/Clemson/Miami will go Big 12 when it is all said and done. The ACC as we know it will cease to exist in a couple of years. And it all boils down to money. The football factories in the SEC are raking in $40-50 million more per year than their ACC counterparts. Can’t compete long term with such a disadvantage.
Anyway…t-minus 3 hours until the Pinstripe Bowl when (hopefully) WVU lays a good old-time Big East smackdown on those oranges from Sorry Excuse.
I have been away for the greater part of the day. Just getting my food ready for the Pinstripe Bowl. I see the ORANGEMEN NATION is in the lead at the moment.
I just read your last comment. I love a guy who understands the greatness of true FOOTBALL NATIONS in comparison to basketball/football institutions.
Those basketball/football institutions usually concern themselves far too much with things like academics. A true FOOTBALL NATION can’t let things like academics hinder their Sports program. I have heard that some schools actually make their FOOTBALL players buy books, paper, and pencils. What is up with that?
In the SEC, we have really good tutoring programs. That does away with the need for our FOOTBALL players to worry about books, pencils, paper, and such —makes much better FOOTBALL players.
Hanging head in shame tonight. Pathetic showing by my boys. The field and conditions were horrible, but it really only affected one team. Sad. Next year beckons in 8+ months. Go Big 12!
Some days you eat the Orangemen. Some days the Orangemen eat you.
The boys from Morgantown will be back. They always come back. It is in their mountain man DNA. It seemed they were cursed by penalty calls. But they will be back. Mountaineers don’t stay down long.
I’m pretty sure there were a couple of burning couch catapults, too…

Hey Sports fans!
Real FOOTBALL Bowl Games start today. Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!! Today is the first of the Bowl Games that have SEC NATIONS playing in them against Lesser Conference Nations.
I know it has been hard on all you Sports fans having to watch the Little Leaguers play these past several days, but good times are upon us now.
Today we have VANDY playing NC STATE in the Music City Bowl and LSU playing CLEMSON in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
There are a couple of other Bowl Games today that we can watch as filler between the good ones.
SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC!

How is it that the Catholic Church does a commercial with Lou Holtz during the Chick-Fil-A Bowl while the richest non-Catholic group in the world, the SBC, does nothing, and never has to amount to anything? Why do we continue to refuse to use the medium of television during big events like bowl games, the Olympics, World Series and other such events?
We had a “Commission” once, but they really did very little. Many people have never understood why we did not use television then and many do not understand why we do not use it now.
But personally, I think we have wasted many fine opportunities.

Well, Sports Fans,
LSU has let the SEC down. Who would have thought that the CLEMSON defense would have played so well?
However, the CLEMSON QB played his heart out and the payoff was his. I still think CLEMSON should have come into the SEC two years ago. Maybe we could trade the ACC KENTUCKY (a basketball institution) for CLEMSON.
We will just have to count on GEORGIA, SOUTH CAROLINA and MISSISSIPPI STATE tomorrow to redeem SEC dominance.
William Thornton

LSU’s offense was always suspect with the UGa reject QB they have and it made their defense have to endure 100 plays or so of Clemson”s very good offence.
Small wonder the game was even close. Clemson is good.

This is a football post and comment thread. Therefore, it is basically meaningless other than as a source of amusement. I like such posts and threads. Yet, today I want to take a moment on this thread to make a serious comment. (Most of my comments are not very serious, but this one is.)
Today, many of us will greet other people by saying, “Happy New Year!” However, 2013 may be a year of change for many people in this nation, especially the elderly and infirm. Truthfully, a change may come to this nation that will affect us all.
We all need to know and remember that as this year begins someone greater than any ruler of any nation is in control. he controls our individual lives and also the course of history.
Psalm 46 reveals to us that no matter what happens in our individual lives or in the this nation and all the nations of the earth, the Holy, Triune God of heaven and earth is in complete control.
_________Psalm 46_____________
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has wrought desolations in the earth.
9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.
10 Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
Got to admit, fellas, that the SC Gamecock win seems pretty impressive. In the face of adversity and with less than a minute on the clock they marched down the field and put Michigan in their place. Michigan only has seconds left. Seems fairly certain to be a Gamecock win. Congratulations to them!

Ugly at times but a good Georgia win.
SC’s Clowney has the highlight play of the decade.
Stanford is off to an early lead in the Rose Bowl. Hopefully, the PAC 12 will make a more powerful statement over the next couple of days than they have so far in bowl games this year.

GEORGIA and SOUTH CAROLINA brought home the bacon to the SEC. MISSISSIPPI STATE let NORTHWESTERN take the Caddy from them and left them with a mule to ride.
But, today is a new day.
So I say:
Hey, hey, hey, hey, yeah
(I said hey, hey, hey, hey, yeah)
I said a hey, a hey, hey, yeah
(I said a hey, a hey, hey, yeah)
A come on everybody take a trip with me, well
Down the Mississippi down to New Orleans
They got a Bowl Game going on in the Dome
The GATOR NATION gonna send LOUISVILLE home
With their Cardinal feathers plucked clean
Down the Mississippi down to New Orleans
Having returned today from Christmas travels, all I can say is… no matter what, Hail State!
(BTW, I trust nothing exciting was allowed to take place while I was unable to jump into the fray with my usual blend of wit and charm?)

Louisville…
Fired their canon ’til the barrels melted down,
Then they grabbed a Florida Gator and fought another round.
They filled his head with canon balls and powdered his behind,
And when they touched the powder off, the Gators lost their mind.
The question, CB, is why LSU and Florida can have all those NFL prospects and not have much of an offense? Georgia can stink it up defensively, as they did vs. Nebraska, but still put a bunch of points on the board. LSU and Florida are weak offensively with not-ready-for-prime-time QBs. Clemson was a better team than LSU but the Gators were embarrassed by an inferior team. They deserved it and Lville deserved to win.
As long as Alabama doesn’t disappoint us, the SEC will be just fine.
Speaking as a humiliated Florida fan, I would be hard-pressed to find many NFL prospects on this year’s offense. Florida is on the upswing after 2 terrible seasons, and obviously still has a long way to go. I believe Muschamp has the bus going in the right direction. That said, huge win by Louisville last night. Congrats to Coach Strong and the Cardinals. They were better coached and much more disciplined. Definitely deserved to win.
I’m with Dave Miller on this one. The SEC has hardly proven itself to be the superior conference of the NCAA. I will say it again: The SEC is a highly overrated yet greatly favored conference. At some point we have to move past the hype that is the SEC.
cb scott

I realize some of you feel that the SEC is overrated. Not to call any names (Duckman Dale, Buzzard-Eye Dave) but, you are just badly lacking (jealous) in your understanding of real greatness. Let me quickly say, it is not your fault. Obviously, you were deprived of watching the Bear Bryant Post Games Show when you were kids an ddid not get enough B-B-Q to develop you properly, mentally and emotionally. And it messed you up emotionally and mentally in an Non-FOOTBALL way of thinking and feeling. You simply do not truly understand.
However, in an effort of love and compassion toward you as Lesser FOOTBALL Nation Fans, I am going to watch the Fiesta Bowl tonight and try to imagine what it is like to not be a Sabanite. I am going to consider myself part of the DUCK NATION and cheer for them as if they played real FOOTBALL like we have in the SEC. I even have on an Oregon Duck baseball cap.
Why a DUCK NATION Fan you might ask? That is easy to answer. No good thing has ever come from Kansas since that little dog that belonged to Judy Garland.
So, here I go. Let me try it out.
GO DUCKS GO!
Boy that hurt! Well, anyway, . . . I will try. And remember, such compassion is only possible from a SEC Fan and Card Carrying Sabanite. No Lesser Nation Fans could do such a selfless thing and remain as humble as I am.

An impressive win for the boys from College Station! Johnny Manziel continues to show his value to A&M. The Heisman hasn’t affected his performance at all. The SEC has obviously been good for the Aggie program. They simply crushed Oklahoma.

The SEC is greatest conference on the planet and Alabama has proven it is better than those gold dust wearing fairies from South Bend. Anyone who disagrees with either of those statements is either in denial, drinking 90 proof crazy juice straight from the keg, or a Yankees fan. Can you hear it? I can. ROLL TIDE!!!!!
Scored 14 points in the 4th quarter against our 2nd and probably some 3rd stringers??? Oh yeah, that’s a significant acomplishment. (insert eye roll here)
If your reading comprehension skills were better you might have recognized that I was complementing Alabama. I was saying that any points scored on them is a significant accomplishment. Joe really you need to quit being a jerk.
Congratulations to Alabama for their third BCS NC in four years and to the SEC for the seventh in a row. I was delighted to see the AP has Georgia and A&M tied for 5th while USAToday has Georgia at 4th and A&M at 5th. Trust me that this Aggie did not expect this season and thoroughly enjoyed the year. Especially the part where the -1 in the ‘Bama record belongs to Johnny HeisManziel and the rest of the Aggies.

Duckman Dale,
I doubt he will go to the Browns. He may leave, but not next year. He will try for three National Championships in a row. Then, maybe he will consider a move, but not to the Browns . . . . Patriots maybe.
Three in a row would be a remarkable stretch. Did the Bear get that many in a stretch?
I wish Wisconsin would let their new hire coach the Rose Bowl. He’d likely be one of the few who even had a chance to win two bowl games in a season.
Doug,
Bear won two in a row twice. As far as I know, no D1 coach has won three in a row.
If Saban leads the TIDE to win against the IRISH, he could possibly do it again next year. However, the odds will certainly be against him. There are just too many great coaches and teams in the SEC for one team to continually dominate.
SEC CB:
I saw this video and thought of you. A wonderful reaction to a great gift!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qxfTQjH8n4M
That’s how we roll in the Southland….we love football.
Duckman Dale,
I have had a few of those moments of great surprise. Thanks for the heads-up on the video.
Editor correction needed:
RE: KSU, should read as follows: KSU could have been in the BCS championship, but they got beat down badly by THEE Baylor Bears.
Please edit ASAP so as not to mislead the readership. Thanks!
🙂
Greg Buchanan,
I do not have Dave Miller’s credentials, but since he is off in the bushes or deep woods somewhere licking his wounds because the BUZZARD-EYES are not worthy to even play in one of the Lesser Bowls and sulking around because the SABANATION is in the BCS National Championship; I will make the correction for you in the thread because your point is very well taken and should be addressed.
Chris Roberts,
May all the joys of the FOOTBALL UNIVERSE be upon you in your travels and may the scope of your FOOTBALL understanding be enlightened as you are among inhabitants of SEC NATIONS.
Chris Roberts,
Do the Baptist Blog World a favor and take Randall Cofield with you to the Gator Bowl.
GO HOKIES!
GO HOKIES!
HOKIES WIN!!
Beamer is still a Legend!
In his own mind, perhaps. :0)
Jim G.
Jimmy G., Jimmy G., Jimmy G.,
My theology teaching brother who has forgotten so much history.
Jim G.
Jim G.,
We agree about the ACC.
Jim G.
Jim G.,
I have been away for the greater part of the day.
Go Big 12!
Jim G.
Jim G.,
Some days you eat the Orangemen.
SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC!
VANDY is making all the SEC proud as they dismantle the little wolf pups of the ACC.
GO VANDY GO!!
Well there you have it, Sports Fans.
You saw what VADNY, the SEC NATION known for high class, sophistication, and real good readin’, rittin’, and rithmtic did to NC STATE.
Just wait till you see what that bunch of Barbarian, SWAMP-LIZARDS from LSU does to the little Tigers from CLEMSON.
SEC all the way, boys. SEC all the way.
The game all of you Sports Fans have been waiting for is about to start.
The Chick-Fil-A Bowl between LSU and Clemson is here. Time to stop reading comments on Harry Potter and a Moral Society and watch NCAA FOOTBALL.
Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! The SEC is about to strike again.
How is it that the Catholic Church does a commercial with Lou Holtz during the Chick-Fil-A Bowl while the richest non-Catholic group in the world, the SBC, does nothing, and never has to amount to anything? Why do we continue to refuse to use the medium of television during big events like bowl games, the Olympics, World Series and other such events?
cb “tough guy” scott,
That’s a good question…
Perhaps we need to appoint a “Television Panel.”
Randall Cofield,
We had a “Commission” once, but they really did very little.
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has wrought desolations in the earth.
9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.
10 Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
GO GATORS GO!!
SEC! SEC! SEC!
Maybe it’s time for SEC fans to realize that while they are a very good conference, they just aren’t that much better than other conferences.
I mean Louisville is just CRUSHING the Gators. Louisville! And its in football, not basketball!
Dave Miller,
Shame on you. Kicking a GATOR when he is crushed, stomped, broken, badgered, mushed, composted, sacked, and racked.
Where is all that compassion and Kumbaya love you are famous for when people are abused and downtrodden?
A vile display, Miller. Simply vile and shameful.
Just making a point. The SEC has won some and lost some in Bowls, but has hardly shown itself to be vastly superior.
Just goes to prove that even SEC GATORS have bad hair days and a CARDINAL can become a RED EAGLE ridin’ in a Chariot of Fire in the FOOTBALL UNIVERSE.
I am going to call you Monday night after the game when the TIDE destroys the IRISH and make ELEPHANT sounds in the phone.
…sheesh…I’m goin’ to bed….
You are right, Randall Cofield,
The GATORS lost their minds . . . . when they abandoned their running game in the locker room before the game.
And a gloomy sight it was. I am so distraught. I think I shall watch reruns of Olympic Water Polo
William Thornton,
Have no fear. We will bring home the trophy from South Florida. We will not let you down.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!
I’m with Dave Miller on this one. The SEC has hardly proven itself to be the superior conference of the NCAA. I will say it again: The SEC is a highly overrated yet greatly favored conference. At some point we have to move past the hype that is the SEC.
And after that opening kick off return of 94 YARDS–that’s right–94 YARD KICK OFF RETURN, you may rest assured of wearing the appropriate cap, SEC CB. I appreciate that you are with me in spirit (holy or otherwise). May our feathers remain unruffled and the great State of Oregon stand strong in victory!
FLASH AND DASH, baby!!! Oh yeah! It’ll make you QUACK UP! Whoooooo!!!!!
Duckman Dale,
Your guys looked good tonight. Good win, but I have a rash on my head from wearing that cap.
Now what is going to happen with your Head Coach?
Bag Balm might help.
Ran out of it. Loaned the last I had to a dairy farmer. I used Burt’s Bees Foot Lotion. I think it will work OK.
Wait. Stop.
forget the Foot Lotion on your head rash . . .
shower up and wash rash gently,
pat dry (gently),
apply a small amount of cortisone cream to rash,
let dry,
later, if irritated still,
take a Benadryl before you go to bed
if itchy, apply a bag of frozen vegetables (inside the bag) to itchy area,
if horribly irritated, go to walk-in clinic for treatment
NO FOOT CREAM ON YOUR HEAD (you’ve already got foot-ball fever)
no charge for free medical advice,
and God Bless You C.B.
CB, just skip right to the frozen vegetables. I’d suggest tying that to your head with an Ace bandage. Then make a trip to the local Walmart where you can parade around in front of the crowd there. Maybe you’ll end up on “People of Walmart”.
QUAAACK!!!!
And in the spirit of reciprocity:
Roll Tide!
He’ll go to the NFL. No doubt. But the Ducks are a talented group. They’ll carry on the tradition.
Down in South Florida tonight, there are a multitude of little Irish Munchkins having nightmares about being trampled by ELEPHANTS – CRIMSON ELEPHANTS – CRIMSON ELEPHANTS sweeping over them like a CRIMSON TIDE from the Atlantic Ocean.
There have been several reports tonight received by the Miami PD that Notre Dame coaches are being awakened from a troublesome sleep by little Irish Munchkins beating on their hotel room doors crying, “Coach, I’m frightened. I want to call my Momma. Pleeeezze let me call my Momma.”
The Cotton Bowl starts in a little over an hour.
The SOONER NATION plays Johnny FOOTBALL tonight . . .and some other TEXAS A&M AGGIES will be on the field with him as he does it.
GO AGGIES! . . . . . GO SEC!!
Does what, you ask? What Johnny FOOTBALL does is beat other NATIONS almost single-handedly.
He beat the greatest FOOTBALL NATION in the FOOTBALL UNIVERSE all by himself.
What he will do with the SOONER NATION will be hard to watch. It will be absolute destruction.
Gig ’em Aggies! Go SEC! Oh…..Roll Tide!
(Trying to make up for my season long disdain of all things SEC.)
It’s official. The Sooners are receiving an old-fashioned DONKEY-STOMPING…
It’s almost painful to watch. But quite entertaining!
Joe Blackman,
You are right as the rain, my friend! Right as the rain!!
We are the SEC! We are the SABANATION!! We are FOOTBALL!!!
ROLL TIDE !!!!
Joe Blackmon,
The only competition we had tonight was out Center against our QB. . . . and St. Nick against the Refs.
I thought you two would be here crowing, and I was RIGHT!
🙂
My husband was wrong. He predicted Alabama by only 3 touchdowns. Glad he went to bed early so I don’t have to hear HIM laughing.
Well, good night dear people.
And joy be to you all.
Barret hit him harder than the Irish did all night long, that’s for sure.
wait a minute,
what kind of great team would permit a bunch of ” gold dust wearing fairies from South Bend” to take two touchdowns off of them?
LOL,
you need to verbally upgrade the Irish a bit there, JOE . . . or you make your own team look dumb for letting 14 points get on the board
you know I’m right 🙂
Christiane,
You are right, any point scored against an SEC defense is a significant accomlishment.
Ah, that game was a pleasure to watch.
Predictive video:

Next time, stick to the wabbits….
I’d love to see Oregon play A&M. Now THAT would have been a game!
