Thanks for the links Tony.
It certainly seems there is more going on than a man resigning.
Is there more going on or is twitter making it seem like there is more going on?

Let’s be honest, we know next to nothing. We just need info. that’s all. time will reveal the truth.

I think we might be jumping to conclusions here. There could be very legitimate reasons for a man to resign at the beginning of a month. There could be legitimate reasons that someone with the high level of responsibility to make the actual operation of last week’s SBC would say nothing about leaving shortly after it.
Then again, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, you need to show some hard evidence that it’s really a chicken. Only way to combat divisive rumors and assumptions is with truth, and there’s only a couple of people that know what is happening.
So, since this is certainly not a “private personnel matter” at this point, I’m looking forward to the Executive Committee providing details to clear this up. Sooner rather than later. We had a good deal of positive coming out of the Convention, we don’t really need to lose it now.

If an injustice has taken place then it should be stated openly. Otherwise, this post is a big waste of time.
Count me among those who do not believe that this post is a big waste of time.
I am with you Bart. When was the last time we had such big figureheads “calling foul” on a ‘resignation.’ If it were a resignation than there would be no reason to call foul. I am very interested in how this plays out.
Matt — If nothing does come of it other than just that he resigned.. even if because he just couldn’t get along or something but it was him own choice… I will find it hard to trust those big figureheads again because a lot of the beginning threads came from them.

Hmmmm. So Morris Chapman can’t be trusted, but Al Mohler and Johnny Hunt are to be followed implicitly. I think I’m beginning to understand.
I wish I knew more about what is going on and I know I’m not alone. What I do know is that if you look at tweets by Drs. Mohler and Moore on Tuesday night and couple them with the news story yesterday, plus their tweets, then it is clear that this was no ordinary resignation. Now there is at least one EC member who is publicly tweeting that it seems this was not warranted. As Tom Ascol has written, where there is smoke there is fire. My hope is that the affected parties will speak up soon and that whatever happened will be dealt with transparently.

It appears that Chapman is going to be in hot water. I guess his “speech” at the SBC was not enough for him.
Okay, I am not very good at follwing twitter, and I have no idea why a resignation is a controversy. Can someone inform me? If you don’t want to do it publicly, email pastordave@cableone.net
I just have no idea what this is all about.

I’d like to know more about what’s going on but I suppose no one knows or is willing to say at this point.
I hate it when just a brew is started and nothing is being said of substance.
Johnny Hunt speaks about this blog — well, sort of.
