Dr. Chapman, Dr. Rankin: Clash of the Titans

On February 10, Dr. Morris Chapman addressed the state executive directors in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho and made some comments that were critical of the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force interim report. On March 8, Dr. Jerry Rankin wrote a blog which was very critical of Dr. Chapman’s report. Let me say a couple of things before I address this disagreement. Celebration from Chaos- Day 1 of the SBC Annual Meeting

At 10a.m. I thought chaos would rule the day.  At 3p.m. I was even more sure of it.  But by 11p.m., in a room full of cheerful brethren and exhausted, honorable leaders, I was more firm in my Southern Baptist devotion than ever.  This was the first day of the 2009 SBC Annual Meeting. Thanks to Matt Privett's comment on my SBC predictions for this post idea. Name five things that will not happen at the Louisville SBC annual meeting. #1 There will be no tailgaters. Although I had a good plan, my pastor shot me down on this one. After following the annual meeting for a few years, I've noticed that there is always a few surprises. This is good because it gives us bloggers something to talk about. Nathan Finn shared his thoughts: Johnny Hunt or Frank Cox. Avery Willis could theoretically pull it off, especially if there’s a run-off, but I don’t think he will.
